Chapter 287. Side Story – Heimdall Pt. 7
“So, that had all been an event...” Heimdall muttered to himself as he sat alone at home. As he was sitting alone, there was no one who could answer him.
“It was just a proposal...”
Heimdall laughed and laid down on the sofa. He was filled with shock and awe, but at the same time, he also was filled with immense joy.
‘You always protected me,’ she had said. ‘Actually, when Jun-Kyeong regressed, I remembered it all.’
Although Heimdall hadn’t known it, she had remembered everything. All of it. The countless hours they had spent together. Athena had slowly recalled them all once Lee Jun-Kyeong had regressed. That was why she had made up her mind.
‘I wanted to protect you at least once.’
Her desire was to protect Heimdall, who had always protected her, with her own two hands. That was why everything had been set up on such a ridiculous scale and why she had planned such an unfathomable proposal. Everyone had been in on it, too.
“Even when Horus and Liu Bei had gone to meet Odin...”
For the proposal, they had gone to the Association to specifically request for Heimdall to help them raid the special Gates and had pulled strings to have him be granted the right to raid them.
‘Well, Athena...she asked me to be involved, too.’
“That brat Lee Jun-Kyeong was in on it, too.”
He couldn’t help but laugh. Chi-Woo and Zeus had been cast as the evil villains, pushing Heimdall into dire straits. This was all for Athena to stand before him, protecting him and confessing her love. Heimdall laughed again, almost finding it impossible to believe that was what they had thought of as a proposal.
Sparkle.
Either way, the diamond ring on his hand shone as Heimdall smiled. Of course, he had accepted it.
***
“I mean, it really was ridiculous,” Lee Jun-Kyeong said to Jeong In-Chang.
Athena and Heimdall’s marriage had been confirmed, so the two Hunters were gossiping about the coming event.
Lee Jun-Kyeong said with a smile, “How could anyone actually come up with that sort of a proposal?”
“I mean, it is Lady Athena, isn’t it?” Jeong In-Chang responded, smiling in kind.
They both thought about it for a moment before realizing that was the case. Athena was a more serious person than anyone else and was also more calm and level-headed than any of them.
“She does have that strange personality, doesn’t she...”
However, she was also eccentric. Still, even though Lee Jun-Kyeong had actively aided her in her plans, he still couldn’t help but be dumbfounded.
“I could never have imagined a proposal like this.”
Even when he had heard her plan, all he could say in response was ‘uh...uh...um...okay...’
However, Lee Jun-Kyeong had always known that his father, Yeo Seong-Gu, had wanted to be with Athena again. That was why he had helped her to the best of his ability.
‘Please.’
More than anything, it was the way Athena had looked, explaining her plan and asking for a favor. When he saw her like that, he felt the beginnings of something stir.
“Are you going to have to call Lady Athena mother now?”
It was something like a mother’s warmth.
Lee Jun-Kyeong shook his head. “Even if they’re getting married, it’s still difficult to go that far. Seong-Gu Hyung... I... I don’t even call him father yet.”
The person that he had followed his entire life, believing to be an older brother of sorts, had suddenly turned out to be his father. There was no way for him to accept something like that easily.
The two of them had stayed together, working through these newfound familiar emotions, but he believed he needed to move out then for the sake of their newlywed life. Lee Jun-Kyeong sighed. It would be impossible for him to live in that house once Athena moved in.
Still, his expression quickly changed as he said, grinning, “I plan to visit quite often, as we have a lot of time for the future.”
Jeong In-Chang smiled, but their joking mood also only lasted for a moment as Lee Jun-Kyeong suddenly asked a question curiously, “By the way...”
Once they had emerged from the gate, he had taken the time to speak with Heimdall. One thing that had been strange was that Athena mentioned that she had found lipstick in the car.
“Had that been a part of the plans, too? I didn’t hear anything about that...”
He wondered if the tube of lipstick that Athena had discovered had just been placed there to embarrass Heimdall and prevent him from discovering their plans for the proposal. If so, he hadn’t heard anything about that part, too.
‘I really was flustered then. Hahaha.’
Heimdall had even said that he had assumed that it was all planned.
‘If it wasn’t for the plans to propose, I was going to kill Siegfried!’
There was something fishy about it all...
“Ha...ha...hahaha....”
Lee Jun-Kyeong heard a short burst of laughter as Jeong In-Chang turned his head to the side. ‘Damn it. I thought I had cleaned it all...’ the Hunter thought as he squirmed and sweated.

[The Arrival of the Couple of the Century.]
Heimdall and Athena wanted to hold a quiet ceremony. However, contrary to their wishes, the world refused to leave them alone. Starting with Korea, the entire planet made headlines about their marriage.
[The Joining of two SSS-Class Hunters.]
Still, there was nothing that any of them could say about how the world had reacted. No matter how much they wanted it to be quiet, even they could admit that their wedding was something that everyone in the world would be interested in. Furthermore, after their union was announced, there was even an impact on the stock market.
[Olympus’ stock price rises rapidly.]
Soon, the headlines shifted to another related topic.
[Will Athena go to Korea?]
[Is Heimdall moving to Europe?!!]
Where would the two live once they got married? Gates no longer collapsed and caused monster tides that devastated cities. But even so, everyone still worried, unable to believe that it was completely safe.
Because of concerns over any unexpected situations, the presence of a strong Hunter was a great comfort. There was a reason why housing prices had skyrocketed near Heimdall's residence and why property values would skyrocket near large guilds.
With all that said, this was not just the marriage of an SSS-Rank Hunter but the marriage between two SSS-Rank Hunters.
[Where could such promised land be?]
There were even rumors going around declaring the place where the new couple would move to might be the safest place in the world. On top of it all, there was another small article that had also appeared. Of course, most people thought that it was just a humorous joke piece.
[The son of Heimdall, who had only recently been revealed. Could it really be...? How early could they have started?]
It was even written like such a joke piece, too... Either way, whenever anyone turned on a TV, the story of Heimdall and Athena would be front and center.
[The Korean Government declares willingness to cover the entire cost for Heimdall and Athena's wedding.]
Even the Government eventually came forward and encouraged the two to get married. The world was turning on its head with just the announcement of the marriage of two people, but the two main characters paid absolutely no mind to any of the ruckus at all.
“That one has to be good, right?”
“Yes, I think so, too.”
***
The wedding day finally arrived. Their relationship was an ambiguous one that could neither be called short nor long.
If they went according to their memories, then Heimdall and Athena had been dating and married endlessly for over hundreds of years. But, if they went according to this day and timeline, they hadn’t even begun to date properly. However, neither of them cared about that.
“Wow! Just how extravagant is this?!”
As for their wedding, it had been decided to be held in Korea with the cooperation of the Korean Government.
“To think they would host a wedding at the Association.”
“This really is amazing.”
Moreover, they even held the wedding at the headquarters of the Hunter Association. Although most weren’t guests, a large crowd of people had gathered at the entrance. Even though they weren’t permitted to enter, they all still gathered in front of the Association to try to get a glimpse of the world’s most famous Hunters.
Buzz, buzz.
“They’re coming! It’s Olympus!”
Every single member of Olympus attended the wedding.
“Wow! It’s Lord Zeus!”
Among the Hunters of Olympus, it seemed as though Zeus’ popularity was through the roof.
“Look at Heracles, though. Doesn’t he just seem like a dimwit?”
“Odysseus is cool, too!”
On the other hand, Heracles didn’t seem to be very popular. One after another, those gathered in front of the Association couldn’t help their eyes from widening.
“It’s the British royal family...”
They were the members of the Round Table, Merlin and Arthur. Surprisingly, Merlin turned out to be a princess of British royal blood, which was why she had given everything to protect England. Her appearance made everyone excited, as the British royal family was famous for not making public appearances.
“Even the Knights of the Round Table...!”
Numerous people entered the Association one after another. There were Liu Bei and his brothers from China and the guild members of the Nile Guild from Egypt. The onlookers were excited by the appearance of the incredibly famous guests.
The presidents of various countries also attended—that was how much influence Athena and Heimdall had.
“It’s the Northern Army Guild! All of Korea’s three major guilds have come!”
The guests were arriving quickly as the ceremony was going to start soon.
Although the onlookers couldn’t see the wedding and were only able to see the guests, they felt like they would have no regrets even if they died now. They were sufficiently satisfied.
Then, a voice rang out announcing the start of the wedding.
[The wedding will begin soon. All guests, please enter the ceremony hall.]
***
“This really is ridiculous,” Lee Jun-Kyeong said as if he were over all the fanfare.
The auditorium of the Association was so vast that it wouldn’t have been cramped even if dozens of monsters were unleashed alongside the countless guests. Noisy voices filled the auditorium. At any other wedding, one might have assumed that these voices were the voices of children.
“I heard that a Special Risk-Grade Gate appeared in Africa.”
“How about sending our guild?”
Those who raised those loud voices were the superpowers of the world and the core leaders of civilization. Lee Jun-Kyeong laughed at the absurd sight of them squabbling like schoolchildren. “Do you really think our table is any better?” Jeong In-Chang asked, speaking as if he were admonishing Lee Jun-Kyeong for once.
They were at a table that could seat ten, located closest to the stage where the ceremony was being held.
“He’s right. Just look at them all. They’re all just staring at us so openly,” Arthur quipped from the side.
Merlin also added, “That’s because the most influential people in the world are all sitting in one place.”
“I guess it was also surprising that I also attended,” said Ungnyeo as she smiled. In her hands was a pure white puppy.
“It’s been a while, Sangun.”
Sangun growled in response and laughed softly. There was a seat right next to it for Fenrir, Hel, and the other Familiars.
“Chomp, chomp!”
The princess was also there with a disgusting expression on her face as she shoved food endlessly into her mouth. Once many stories had been exchanged, Zeus, who had taken up the mantle of host, began to speak.
“We will be beginning the ceremony shortly,” he said.
“To think Zeus would act as the host...just how...”
Although everyone was surprised, Lee Jun-Kyeong was the most surprised. To think that the great Zeus would have been the host for Athena and Heimdall’s wedding.
Then, the ceremony began.
“The groom is entering!”
Heimdall appeared.
“Wow, I really didn’t think they would have, but...”
“They really did it.”
“Are they insane?”
The tables all started to get noisy. Of course, the only table saying anything negative was the table that Lee Jun-Kyeong and the others were sitting at. The reason they were exclaiming and teasing Heimdall was that the Hunter had entered the hall wearing his brilliant armor instead of a tuxedo and was wielding his rainbow-colored sword.
“That’s Heimdall’s divine item...!”
Many heads of state and powerful people were gathered, but there wasn’t any commotion at the sight of Heimdall’s fully armored state, as it had already been announced in advance. The guests had all been informed that they didn’t have to accept the invitation if they were concerned about their safety, as the wedding would be held dressed in their armor.
Then, Zeus called out once more.
“The bride is entering!”
However, the bride didn’t enter with her father in arm, as Athena also came in, dressed in her armor.
“Cough, cough, cough.”
“This really is amazing!”
A tremendous amount of pressure weighed down the wedding hall.
Sssss.
There was only one reason why they were able to show off their divine items like this.
“This really is...”
Lee Jun-Kyeong was suppressing their aura, secretly raising a hand and erecting a barrier.
“It really is such a symbolic wedding.”
“To think two guardians of the world would join together as one.”
“Everyone...”
“No one could ever think of crossing Mr. Lee again.”
In the midst of all of them teasing each other, one phrase at a time, Zeus declared to the audience with a grin, “With this, I am proud to announce the joining of Heimdall and Athena as husband and wife.”
With the declaration of a ruler who held the world in hand that no one could ignore, the auditorium erupted in cheers.
Waaaaa!!!!!
Cheers rang through the auditorium so loud that it felt as though the building would crumble. Athena and Heimdall looked over at Lee Jun-Kyeong and winked. In return, he smiled as he applauded.
They had built their perfect home, and the dream that had seemed entirely unreachable had finally come to fruition. As the cheers rang around them, Ungnyeo suddenly grabbed Lee Jun-Kyeong and called out to him.
“Lee Jun-Kyeong! Please go out with me.”
It was another extremely unexpected confession.
